Menopause in simplified English

2023-03-27

Menopause is a big change that happens to women as they get older.

Menopause is when a woman’s body stops having periods for 12 months in a row.

It usually happens around age 51, but it can happen at different ages.

During menopause, women’s bodies have less of certain hormones like oestrogen and progesterone.

This can cause all sorts of changes, like hot flashes, mood swings, and trouble sleeping.

But don’t worry, there are things you can do to feel better during menopause.

Eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly can all help.

There are also treatments, like hormone replacement therapy, that can help with some of the symptoms.

It’s important to talk to a doctor if you’re having trouble with menopause symptoms.

They can help you figure out what’s going on and what treatments might work for you.

Even though menopause is a natural part of life, it can still be hard to go through.

Talk to other women who are going through it too, so you can share your experiences and learn from each other.

There are lots of groups online and in person where women can connect and support each other during this time.

Look for groups on social media or join one of my Menopause Meet-up groups.

Remember, menopause is just another part of life’s journey.

With the right support and care, you can feel healthy and happy during this transition.
